Our Mission

The Mission of Holy Temple Church is to win souls to faith in Jesus Christ and commit them actively to the church. To help them in the faith and knowledge of Christ that they may know and perform God’s will; to work with the unity of all Christians and engage in the common task of building the kingdom of God; and in all ways to seek and make known the love of God.

Our Vision

Through effective teaching of the word and providing visible examples of uncompromised integrity and excellence, we must help each person to come into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, understand their purpose and maximize their potential and productivity in life in a manner which glorifies God!

Our Affirmation of Faith

The Bible: We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written word of God.

God: We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Blessed Hope:
We believe in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.

Repentance and Salvation: We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

Jesus Christ: We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.

Holy Spirit: We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

Sanctification: We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world.

Dr. David. C. Graham was appointed as senior Pastor of Holy Temple Church of God In Christ in 1979 by the late Bishop Howard Smith.

Dr. Graham’s principle thrust is his desire to address the needs of the poor, urban and rural minorities, low income individuals and families so that they can meet societies demands in the areas of economic, housing, health care and vocational training to become a viable part of today’s work force.

Dr. Graham is a Bible teacher, senior facilitator, family counselor, lecturer and businessman. He has been an adjunct professor at Ocean County College. Dr. Graham has also held numerous positions within the Church of God in Christ on both a state and national level under the leadership of Bishop Norman Prescott, New Jersey Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

Dr. Graham has also served on the Advisory Board of the Ocean County Department of Human Services and as chairman of the Coalition for the Development of Community Programs. This membership consists of pastors of various denominations throughout the state of New Jersey.

Dr. Graham holds a Bachelor of Theology from the American Divinity School, a Master of Theology and Doctorate of Sacred Theology from United Christian College. He also holds a Master of Science degree from Southern New Hampshire University in the area of Community Economic Development.

Next to salvation, Pastor Graham’s most cherished accomplishment is his family. He is the husband of Evangelist “Mom” Shirley J. Graham, the proud father of 3 and proud grandfather of 4.

Pastor Graham lives by the words of Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
